Beauty Is

This is my entry for the Take A Word challenge this week where the theme is "Beautiful" and what the word means to you. For me of course Nature captures my heart ; its colors, textures, sounds, its natural palette feeds my soul. When I want beauty I head outdoors and I am never let down.
Imagery credits go to itKuPiLLi at Deviant scrap and Manuela at scrapbookgraphics all painted and layered in Photoshop.

About this new blog.......After four and a half years at my Ravenpainting blog I just really felt like a change in venue; a new, light -filled place to create, a template that was more up to date and welcoming.  It is still a work in progress. I have thought about trying to change and update Ravenpainting for quite a while now but in fact, I really liked  the way it was and did not want to alter it- I wanted it to stay true to it's original format but was still wanting something different and new. One of the wonderful things about these online journals is that we will always be able to go back and see where we were at a certain time in our lives and share them with perhaps grandchildren or  just for ourselves.  I have found so many wonderful friends on line and hope to find many coming here. I find this a bit like adding a new room or remodeling a room in your home... it has an excitement and newness to it that certainly helps my muse stay alive and kicking!
Imagery that I used for my new blog banner is from itKuPiLLi (at Deviant Scrap),Christine Renee and Rebecca McMeen (at Scrapbookgraphics) woman from E-vint .com.

  5. I'm excited about this week's challenge which gives the opportunity for everyone to create something unique. Your picture is beyond beautiful. I love the old, pen and ink drawings and you really know how to combine them into a work of art. The colour palette is unusual and stunning! I love everything about it.
On another subject ... if I had to choose a winner for the best Blog header ever it would be yours, here on your new and wonderful Blog. What a good idea to start afresh. Perhaps you have started something!! I wonder if we will be seeing more new blogs. I love the fact that your pictures are now displayed in large size.
    Bravo.

  6. I love your new banner. The colors are so wonderful. Your entry for this challenge is just as beautiful, though. It's amazing how a limited color palette can draw attention to all of the beautiful details. Nature is, of course, unlimited in its stunning details.

I do like the fresh and spacious feel of your new blog - I've been playing around with 'lighter' ideas for my own one too but haven't seen it through.
